Do you miss cruise day?

You know..that day you are giddy as can be while you board the ship in anticipation of an awesome vacation ahead?

Well today is one awesome monumental day in history!!

After a 15 month hiatus, cruising is about to begin with the first cruise ship to sail out of a US port since the beginning of the pandemic in March 2020.

The beautiful Celebrity Edge has literally just set sail at 6pm EST from Port Everglades, Fort Lauderdale Florida where she then visits Nassau, St Thomas and St Maarten. Not only is Celebrity Cruise Lines my personal favourite cruise line (thus far!), I am so proud of them for leading the charge to be the first ship to sail out of US. That said, cruises have also been very successfully sailing in Europe and in the Caribbean along the way.

As a Travel Advisor with Expedia Cruises I have been on top of EVERY ever-changing step of the way moving towards this moment. This particular cruise is at least 95% vaccinated (24 children and 2 adults are not vaccinated and the rest are) and running and this particular cruise is running at 36% capacity. As Richard Fain, the CEO of Royal Caribbean Lines said, they are entirely prepared that regardless of their strict protocols, cases of COVID-19 will arise (especially with the degree of testing they are performing) but they have a 100% plan to isolate and escape any outbreak scenario. This particular cruise is able to happen due to  The Healthy Sail Panel which have created the absolute strictest protocols to mitigate the transmission of this nasty virus that has changed all of our lives over the past 15 months+. As we all know, the world has learned so much about this virus since the horror show of the Diamond Princess back in 2020 when essentially nobody knew what to do.

I won’t lie, the past 15 months as a Travel Advisor has been one “hell of a ride”.  That ON HOLD music has continually rang in my ear with all my travel suppliers so I could help my loyal clients cancel, book, and rebook without a single pay-check in the process.  But, one sincere reason I am in this industry is passion! I am still very happily a member of the industry.

At Expedia Cruises we specifically have a fantastic relationship with Celebrity Cruises and lock in really awesome group rates that are almost always lower than the going rate for cruises with extra perks to boot!

Please consider “shopping local” and reaching out to me anytime for help with your next cruise, I would absolutely love to help you get back out to sea!
